Reviews
Step into a world of timeless elegance and sheer comfort in 12 Castle Street, where classic charm meets modern luxury and pure relaxation. Escape to this superbly renovated Victorian residence which sits on a quiet street, which as the name suggests, is very near the castle, in the pretty market town of Ruthin in north Wales, where half-timbered houses, Georgian facades and Victorian architecture, sit along the medieval streets, creating a unique atmosphere.

From the moment you arrive, the grand Victorian architecture, imposing turrets, high ceilings, the sense of space in every room and ornate fireplaces, decorative cornices, ceiling roses, heavy velvet curtains and beautifully preserved period details create a sense of a sophisticated escapism. Sunlight pours through the elegant windows throughout the house, illuminating tastefully styled rooms, and are framed with stunning refurbished shutters. Enter via the large entrance vestuble into the impressive hallway, where the imposing sweeping oak staircase rises to the exquisitely designed first floor, where the landing, typically of the era, is lined with attractive bookshelves.

On the ground floor, in the spacious sitting-room, sink into the plush sofas in the glow of the wood-burner on chillier evenings or enjoy long, leisurely meals in the elegant dining-room. If there's a pianist in the party enjoy a sing song around the piano. The stylish, well-equipped kitchen sits just off the dining-room where the chef will find all they need for some gourmet holiday cooking.

Each of the four opulent en suite bedrooms, one of which is located on the ground floor, are thoughtfully designed with luxurious linens and tasteful decor, offering a peaceful retreat after a day's exploring. There is also a sumptuous family bathroom located on this floor, where you can take a luxuriously long bubble bath before bed. The sun-room offers the ideal, peaceful escape with a good book, or to watch your favourite movie. From here step onto the balcony which looks across to Nantclwyd y Dre, one of the oldest timber framed house in Wales, it's the perfect setting for morning coffee, evening drinks or simply soaking up the cool evening air.
